Dumfries’ Own: Joseph Cursare

Joseph Walters, aka Joseph Cursare

Meet Joseph Cursare—a 16-year-old rapper from Dumfries, Scotland, constructing his lane at the crossroads of fun rap, UK Garage, and global beat influences. His ambition started early: at just 14, he dropped his debut EP The Out Of Place after crafting beats and lyrics from his bedroom.

Tour Time in Dumfries & Galloway

Early in 2025, backed by the Dumfries Music Collective (DMC), Joseph embarked on his very first regional tour. This wasn’t just a hometown flex—it was a statement of intent.
Tour dates included:

  • Wigtown Hall on April 22

  • Castle Douglas Community Centre (The Zone) on April 25

  • Finishing with a show at The Venue in Dumfries on April 26—an iconic stage that once hosted Lewis Capaldi.

DMC’s Hagen Patterson remains proud—and impressed:

“We decided to just put Joseph on tour because we feel that he is ready.”
“There is no other artist out there like Joseph at this moment in time.”

This tour wasn’t about crowds—it was about connection, confidence, and giving South Scotland a front-row look at someone who’s rapidly becoming unmissable.

Why This Tour Is More Than Just Dates on a Map

  • Hometown barometer — For someone who began making beats on his phone around age 10 and dropped his debut EP The Out of Place at 14, this tour was a prove-it moment.

  • Legacy-linked stages — It’s not everyday a teen rapper headlines a venue that launched artists as the previously stated Lewis Capaldi—but that stage is now Joseph’s too.
